Ready to start looking for your new best friend?!!
The first step in setting up an adoption meeting is for you to fill out the application to adopt!
We are a foster based rescue all visits are by appointment only
The link below will take you directly to our online application
Files coming soon.
If your considering adoption the first step would be to fill out the application. Once approved we're happy to put you in touch with the foster family of the pet your interested in. If all goes well and you both feel it may be a good fit the next step is visiting. Each pet is treated as an individual so the adoption requirements will depend on a specific pets needs rather than a general rule, like a fenced yard, no kids, etc... We look for the home that best fits not necessarily the first to apply.
Adoption fees vary and are posted in the pets listing. All dogs / cats are vetted before going home. This includes being current on vaccinations, spay / neuter, micro chip, heartworm test, FeLV/FIV, health certificate, treating any known medical conditions. While in our care all pets are wormed on a regular basis and receive flea / tic & heartworm preventatives.
We do not cover any vetting or costs after adoption. All pets are adopted as is for companion animals only. We do not evaluate for service or therapy needs. We release any know information we have on the dog as far as health or behavior but there is always the possibility that issues can arise after bringing a pet home that were not apparent at the time of adoption.
We require an approve application be on file before scheduling visits. We allow 24 hrs after the visit for a final decision on adoption before moving on to the next applicant. We have a no hold policy for any pet fully vetted and ready to go home. We have a waiting list for pups & kittens and will give priority to those on the list before accepting new applications. ALL dogs / cats will be altered no exceptions. If a dog is not ready to go home at the time of the visit we will require a hold deposit be place to secure the adoption until they can be released to their adopters.
Have you adopted with us? We love to share updates on our past pets! Of course we will not post any pics sent to us without your permission.
Things in rescue are always changing so while we grow and move forward we will try our best to update information as quickly as possible. If we haven't answered all of your questions here please go to the contact page and send us a message. We're happy to talk more.

this is Toby from our litter of males, still needs a family. He's a little bigger now but not much. He's about 3 months old 15 lbs, we'll get new pics posted asap
Little Red is looking for a home. He came to us in April with the rest of the Shep mix litter, but being so much smaller than the others, we held him back for a bit. He's still little but doing great and ready to meet potential families.
Boyd is about 2 yr old 20 lbs. He is crate trained. Loves playing with other dogs. He has treat motivated. Please message our Facebook page for any other questions.
Cooper sadly ended up in the shelter due to his previous family not being able to keep up with his medical needs. He is about 6 yrs old 37 lbs, and coming to VT tomorrow. He seems like a sweet laid back boy who just needs a bit of special care. He is in need of a foster if anyone is up for it. A skin scrape was done and it is not any type of mange. He is currently on antibiotics and meds for allergies.
Churro is still lookng for a home, the right home. He is a big 85 lb, 1-2 yr old pup, so no young children, no apartments, must have a yard and be able to handle a large breed boy who can still use a little basic training.
This adorable little lady is Sweet Pea, and sweet she sure is. She's a Chihuahua mix about 9 yrs old, 13 lbs hoping to find an adult only home. She is available for adopters meetings now.
Frannie, needs lots of socialization, very timid around people she is a flight risk.
bonded pair, **will not separate, both 7+ yrs old
Teddy is a 7 yr old Maltese who has just arrived to our rescue. He seems to ve find with other dogs and people. We'll update soon with more info
Meet Marley, this senior boy has a few age related health issues going on, but is settling in well. He is about 13 yrs old, 14 lbs, blind in his left eye, doesn't always get along with other dogs, is housebroken. He'd love a home where he can spend the rest of his years being an only pet.
Scooter is an adorable little special need boy who has lost the use of his back legs. That doesn't slow him down at all he gets along just fine with his wheels.
Winston, who will be arriving on Sat. He's a 2yr Tibetan Terrier mix?? About 15-20lbs, ended up in the shelter as a stray with no owner coming to claim him. He was very shut down in the shelter, but is coming around. We're told he's dog friendly & cat friendly with very calm, older cats - **he does chase active cats. He would do best in a home without small children due to being skittish.

We have several litters of kittens getting ready to be adopted. Watch the Facebook page because as they come available they will be going up on there. So get your applications in.
